In The Area

During your stay make sure to take a pleasant stroll around the Brompton Lakes grounds, with a path running between the lakes and riverbanks. There are lots of on-site activities to choose from, including a game of boules, complimentary bikes, or enjoying a game of tennis. When you venture out of your luxury lodge in Yorkshire, close by are many walks, cycling routes and stunning attractions. The Yorkshire Dales National Park offers so much to explore, and even with the pooch in tow many shops and pubs are dog-friendly and extremely accommodating.

The historic market towns of Richmond, Barnard Castle, Masham and Leyburn are nearby. Each offers history and culture, restaurants, shopping and the weekly markets filled with local produce. Richmond Castle is sited on a rocky promontory above the River Swale, and among the oldest Norman stone fortresses in England. Richmond also offers wonderful walks along Richmond Falls, a Saturday market filled with local produce, plenty of local artisan shops, The Georgian Theatre, and great places to eat. We recommend The Station, with its artisan bakery, independent two-screen cinema, brewery and art gallery.
