On warmer days open the giant French doors out to the spacious patio, the perfect spot for al fresco dining or a morning coffee whilst appreciating the beautiful gardens. A discrete door in the kitchen, which could be mistaken for a pantry, leads down to the original cellar, now fully fitted with a home gym, steam room, and sauna!?

Across the hall, a generous sitting room with comfy sofas and armchairs, overlooking the lawns and rose garden. Cosy up in front of the fire and enjoy a film on the hidden pop-up TV. Sonos speakers connect throughout the house to create the ambience you desire.

While away an afternoon in the study, filled with board games, cards, and a chessboard. A further snug is tucked across the hallway beyond the kitchen. Chic and comfortable, it is the ideal space for kids (and big kids) to play games or to settle in front of the large TV with surround sound speakers and Sky while sprawled on the huge L-shaped sofa.?

Sweep up the grand staircase with the twinkling Venetian glass chandelier overhead, and find five comfortable bedrooms. The elegant master suite is one of the biggest bedrooms we've seen by far, boasting a super king bed, sofa, and wardrobes galore. Light the fire and while away the morning in the decadent freestanding roll-top bath. The en-suite facilities in this open-plan bedroom also include a large basin and toilet.

The second bedroom has a magnificent four-poster bed and looks over the garden, also with a fire and plenty of storage. A third nearby bedroom also overlooking the garden can be made up as a super-king bed or as a twin room for families. These share a bathroom across the hall, with elegant wood panelling and a bath and shower overhead.

The fourth bedroom has a king-size bed, a walk-in wardrobe. Next door is a further bathroom with an overhead shower. The fifth bedroom is a large yet cosy double room, with an en-suite shower and toilet.

A second staircase sweeps back down to the entrance hall and kitchen. All bedrooms benefit from high ceilings, warm and welcoming interiors, and gorgeous views of the grounds.?

Pretty gardens await your at Highmoor, wrapping around the house and beautifully maintained. Guests will enjoy wandering around the property discovering the various nooks and quiet spots. Well-kept rose beds and charming features such as the bubbling fountain and fruit trees make this house so charming. A croquet lawn at the top of the garden offers the best view from which to appreciate the setting.

A perfect evening can be spent with children roasting marshmallows over a fire pit, whether you’re on a summer holiday or winter retreat.?

What was once was a dilapidated brick barn, now houses an incredible swimming pool. Designed by local architects and renovated with no expense spared, the 15m heated indoor pool is accessed through full height 3.5m glass doors. These can be opened on sunny days, letting light flood over the turquoise waters.?It’s the perfect spot to kick back with an ice-cold tonic in hand devouring a great book on a lounger, while the rest of the party splash. There is a shower, changing area, and cloakroom, making this a perfectly equipped holiday home with a pool.

Pet Safety in Pools

Behind the electric gates, there is plenty of parking on the driveway. The kitchen includes a large Smeg range cooker, an American fridge freezer, and a dishwasher. The cloakroom is located on the ground floor. You will find high-quality linen, towels, bathrobes and a selection of toiletries are included.

At the back door, and adjacent to the kitchen and utility room, a handy boot room stores coats and wellies made muddy from long walks through the stunning surrounding countryside. The utility room includes a washing machine, tumble dryer, and plenty of extra storage.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome at Highmoor for a small additional cost. A cot and a highchair are available on request for families.

Once in the driveway, there is plenty of parking at the front of the property for the number of guests. The ground is gravel, with one step into the house. The external walkway that runs between the entrance door (the door leads into the boot room) and the pool in this holiday home is flagstoned. At the rear of the house, the large patio with the outdoor furniture is flagstoned. There are different areas within the garden on different levels, and the flat croquet lawn sits at the top of the bank at the rear of the house.

The closest town is Thirsk, 6 miles away. Followed by Masham, 9 miles away.
You will arrive into the large stone-flagged boot room entrance hall, which leads through to the kitchen, utility, back staircase, and tv room. This large more informal sitting room has an L-shaped sofa and additional bean bags, making it well-suited to afternoon movies and for the children to retreat to watch tv or play. The utility room includes a washing machine, dryer, and a Belfast sink and sideboard.
Two steps lead up into the kitchen and dining area, which is well equipped for a self-catering break. There is a range oven, a dishwasher is built into the island, the floors are stone flagged with underfloor heating, and there is a gas fire by the dining table. From here full-height French doors lead out to the patio, and an unassuming door leads down to the cellar where you will find the gym, sauna, and steam room.
The sitting room, which comfortably seats eight guests with a gas fire and hidden television, and the study full of books and board games, lie off the main hallway beyond the kitchen. There is a ground floor cloakroom on this high ceilinged hallway also. The large, wide staircase leads to the first floor.
There are five large bedrooms and four bathrooms. The master bedroom and second bedroom sit at the top of the main staircase. The master bedroom includes a super-king bed, plenty of storage, wooden floors with underfloor heating, and full-height windows looking over the lawn to the front. This large and luxurious bedroom is en-suite; a free-standing roll-top bathtub takes centre stage, and there’s a basin with under-counter storage and a toilet. Please note these facilities are not screened off from the rest of the room.
Bedroom 2 with its four-poster bed is also a super king. This is a large bedroom, with plenty of storage and a gas fire making it cosy in winter. Bedroom 3 which looks over the garden includes a zip and link bed that can be set up as either a super king or a twin bed. These two bedrooms share a bathroom, which has a shower over the bath.
Winding along the corridor sit Bedrooms 4 and Bedroom 5. Between these two rooms is a second shared bathroom, though compact there is a shower over the bath, basin, and toilet. Bedroom 4 is spacious with a walk-in wardrobe, views over the garden, and a king-size bed. Bedroom 5 is an en-suite shower room, a spacious room overlooking the garden and pool house with plenty of storage and a double bed. Outside here the second staircase leads back to the entrance hallway.
Certainly one of the most impressive features in the holiday home with a pool is the brick double storey converted barn that houses it. With full-height glass doors, wooden shutters outside, and original wooden beams overhead, it is easy to while away an afternoon. For your convenience, the large changing room has a shower and a separate cloakroom.
We ask guests to please bring slippers or shoes to walk between the house and the pool. Bathrobes and towels are included.
Discover this the sauna, gym and steam room, down a staircase from the kitchen. Though some cellars may not be inviting, the one at Highmoor is a highlight of the house. Perfect your practice on the yoga mats, or try out the weights and a rowing machine if you want to work off some of last night’s over-indulgence. The steam room comfortably seats four, and the steam room 4-6 guests. There is also a shower available.
Two dogs are allowed at Highmoor. The grounds are not fully secure, though there is plenty of space to run around. Dogs must please be kept on the ground floor, and they not allowed into the sitting room and upstairs. Read our pet Ts & Cs.
One cot (note this has a sheet but no mattress for hygiene reasons) and one highchair are available on request.
Bed linen, two sets of towels, and bathrobes are included in this holiday home with a pool.
Hairdryers, toiletries, a starter pack of kitchen and utility room consumables are included.
We include instructions in the house for use of the pool, sauna, and steam room.
