Day 18

Pumpkin picking is a great activity for all ages around Halloween and October half term. At Atley Hill Farm in Scorton, North Yorkshire you can pick your own size and style of pumpkin.

Carve it out into a super scary design ready for our annual Halloween pumpkin carving competition. Only a 10-minute drive from our luxury lodges at Brompton Lakes, we guarantee great fun for friends and family this half term...

The farm is open from 10am-3pm every weekend in October and daily from 25th October onwards. There's free entry, free parking and plenty of pumpkins to pick from! Just pay for what pumpkins you pick, and you'll pay from 50p to £5. Wheelbarrows are provided for a bigger haul...

Whilst at the farm you can pick up some fresh farm raw milk, produced by the award-winning Tinehill Holsteins and Atleyhill Ayrshires. In late summer you can challenge yourself to get out of the Maize Maze.

On your way home, make sure you book a table at one of our favourite local restaurants, The Heifer. It overlooks the village green in Scorton, and is a popular place to eat and drink with a real Yorkshire welcome!

All the food is sourced from local produce and cooked fresh. Eat in the bar or in the restaurant, but before sitting down make sure to try a few award-winning local ales on offer. Don’t miss parmo night on a Thursday (a Northern classic), steak night on a Friday, and burger night every Sunday.
