To help boost the struggling hospitality industry, many cafes, restaurants and pubs across North Yorkshire have signed up to the Governments ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme. The scheme offers 50% off all food, up to a maximum of £10, throughout the whole of August every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

In total, 95 Richmondshire outlets have joined the scheme and here are our top 3 restaurants we recommend booking a table at this August… Eat Out to Help Out!

1. The Saddle Room

After a day out with a difference exploring a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers, follies and surprises at Forbidden Corner, head next door for more weird and wonderful at The Saddle Room.

The Saddle Room is an award-winning family-friendly restaurant offering a unique dining experience, with good honest food, handpicked wine from the award-winning cellar and a fun atmosphere. Once a racehorse stables, you can sit by a cosy fire or book the Tack room table. You may feel like you are at the races which will delight children of all ages, whilst enjoying the fabulous menu of local food and ales. On your way home, make a trip to the 12th century Middleham Castle, best known as the childhood home to Richard III, and if you are interested in racing, Middleham is also the land of the racehorse where you will find some of the most successful trainers in the North East.

Richmond is one of Britain’s most beautiful market towns, with its 11th Century castle, fine historic buildings, large cobbled market place and many hidden corners making it a treasure trove for visitors.

You’ll find a good choice of pubs and plenty of places to eat offering 50% off this August. One of our favourites is The Station, a stunning riverside railway building, where you can spend your time enjoying the delicious café, an award-winning artisan bakery as well as an art gallery to browse on a rainy day in Yorkshire… The café is open 7 days a week. Treat the family to beer-battered fish and chips or book a luxury Afternoon tea from 10th-15th August with a classic combination of freshly prepared sandwiches, scones, cakes and pastries with tea/coffee of your choice or a glass of something sparkling.
