Nothing beats a break to Yorkshire at any time of year, however there is something very special about an Autumnal weekend break. With crisp morning walks before getting cosy in front of a roaring fire, it just doesn’t get much better!

Here are our five top reasons why to visit Yorkshire this Autumn, so wrap up warm, it’s time to explore Yorkshire with Holiday at Home...

1.     Country Walks...

Yorkshire is known to offer some of the best walking country in the UK with the most picturesque landscapes, and it only gets better in Autumn!

Warm browns, rich oranges and deep reds are all around us at this time of year, making the perfect backdrop for an afternoon stroll or a more challenging hill walk. Then retreat to your luxury holiday home to put your feet up with a glass of red in front of the fire.

Holiday at Home is also dog friendly and with plenty of trees to sniff and fallen leaves to roll in, your four-legged friend is sure to enjoy a day out in Yorkshire too!

2.   Autumn glow at Thorpe Perrow

Autumn is all about the fantastic colours on show, and there is nowhere better to see these nearby than at Thorpe Perrow. The Arboretum has endless rows of leaves in a rainbow of shades, from scarlet red through oranges, yellows, golds, browns and purples; you’ll be spoilt for choice in finding the perfect photo opportunity.

Explore acres of stunning woodland, while the kids run wild in the adventure play area before meeting exotic birds and animals such as meerkats, wallabies and Shetland sheep.

3.   Cosy Pubs

You will never be short of a good country pub for a refuel after exploring North Yorkshire. We all love a good pub meal and we have a reputation for having some of the best fine dining pubs in the country, perfect for any special occasion.

The Black Swan at Oldstead, North Yorkshire has recently even been named the best restaurant in the world, based on customer reviews from the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Restaurants Awards.

4. Relax by the fire...

Nothing beats popping another log on to your own wood burning stove and sitting back to enjoy the sound of a crackling fire. Most of our luxury cottages and our lakeside lodges have log burners or open fires, to cosy up near to each evening after exploring the Yorkshire countryside.

Or why not enjoy perfect relaxation in one of our private garden hot tubs, great on a cold crisp evening. Watching the stars above, listening to the gentle roar of the log burning stove or the bubbling of the jets.
