Malton, a pretty Yorkshire market town known as ‘Yorkshire’s Food Capital’, is only a short scenic drive over the North Yorkshire Moors from many of our luxury holiday homes and is a must visit during your stay. En-route you can discover acres of picturesque Yorkshire countryside, stunning moorland, ancient abbeys and picturesque villages so make sure you give yourself enough time to take in this breathtaking scenery.
You will find there is so much to do in Malton with traditional food shops, Malton cookery school, food tours, restaurants, Talbot Yard, famous events and festivals as well as a large number of excellent independent shops to look around. It is truly a special place to spend time.
For the food lovers in your group, every second Saturday of the month you can enjoy a feast as Malton’s central market place is transformed in to a foodies heaven with over 35 specialist stalls showcasing the best local produce and street food (we recommend trying Fountell’s Yorkshire pudding wraps), live music as well as tasting trips to the Talbot Yard, where you can munch your way around the streets learning about the local history and tasting delicious Yorkshire specialities along the way. This famous food festival is a great day out for all ages and the market trades from 9am to 3pm and there is 2-hour free car parking nearby.

Get the dates Saturday 23rd and 24th May 2020 in your diary in advance for a must visit for Malton Food Lovers Festival, a huge celebration of Yorkshire’s finest local produce and cooking talent and fun for all of the family.
Expect over 160 artisan stalls, delicious street food, talks, tastings, celebrity chefs, live cooking demos from the likes of Tommy Banks and James Mackenzie, book signings, live music, funfair, face painting and much, much more!
