Put a Spring in your step…

As the snow starts to melt and we start to see bright yellow daffodils popping up throughout the
landscape, it seems that finally Spring is on the horizon and with Easter just
around the corner, there is no better time to visit Yorkshire…

What’s not to love about spring?  Springtime is the ideal time
to enjoy some fresh air in the great outdoors and explore the Yorkshire
Dales, as well as the perfect chance to spend quality time with family and
friends. Whether you're planning a grand family gathering this Easter or an
intimate bank holiday escape with a loved one, here are our top four reasons
why to book a last minute escape to
Yorkshire this Easter...

Chocolate, chocolate,

eggs and chocolate have become synonymous with this special time of year when
the season changes from winter to spring and what better time to visit Kacao,

our favourite local chocolaterie, based in the heart of the
Yorkshire Dales. As well as lots of delicious chocolate on offer, Kacao also have
many exciting chocolate making courses this Easter for kids (and those big
kids) to enjoy; learn all about the sweet tasting stuff whilst chomping on
marshmallows dipped in the running chocolate fountain. A great day out for all
of the family!

trail at Thorp Perrow...

Thorp Perrow is a fantastic day out for all of
the family, especially during Spring with over

100 acres of woodland
trails, glades and avenues to explore. During the Easter holiday there is lots
going on including the popular Easter Trail, where little ones can hunt the
Easter bunny and solve clues as they go.

During March and April, thousands of daffodils fill
the Arboretum with glorious colour, and visitors are invited to follow Curator
Faith’s trail through the best of the collection. The Arboretum houses a Bird
of Prey and Mammal Centre with fascinating daily flying demonstrations, and in
Spring, the chance to meet and hand-feed cute baby wallabies and meerkats too!

Spring in to life... Spring is the time when everything is bursting into life. Birds are singing, leaves are unfolding and the animals are beginning to wake from their winter sleep. At Brompton Lakes look out for our regular visitors which include geese, ducks, swans, oystercatchers, moorhens and kingfishers. Pop in to Mainsgill Farm as lambing time is now upon us and Mainsgill has over 400 Texel ewes to lamb this Spring. Check out what mischief the newly born lambs get up to as well as lots of other animals to visit whilst on the farm.

off those Easter eggs…

After a long weekend of gorging
ourselves on Easter chocolate, there is no better time to get out and about to
explore the great outdoors.

appropriately named for an ice cream sundae than a hill, Roseberry Topping

is nonetheless worth a visit. At
320 metres high it’s a challenging but achievable climb for the whole family,
and once you’ve battled your way to the top you’ll enjoy sweeping views across
North Yorkshire and Teesside.
