Now it is time to get your diaries out and get planning your next escape to North Yorkshire. With brighter days ahead, let’s look forward to exploring acres of picturesque countryside, scenic picnic lunches and warmer evenings in country cottage gardens!

Let’s see what is happening in Yorkshire this Spring…

God's Own County!

Spring promises fresh blooms and longer brighter days – perfect for spending quality time in the great outdoors. North Yorkshire has acres of the most picturesque landscapes to discover, across vast moorland and sweeping coastline – all providing spectacular views of the iconic Yorkshire countryside.

One of our favourite trails with spectacular riverside views is an easy 2.5 mile walk, starting in Keld at the River Swale, where walkers can head to check out the East Gill Beck, before moving on to Birk Hill and the pretty waterfall at Kisdon Force and East Gill Waterfall. Plenty of perfect picture moments along the way.

Pub Grub and Local Ales!

Spring has felt a long time coming, but it’s back again and we are counting down the days for a refreshing beer while soaking up the Yorkshire sun!

In Richmond, The George and Dragon in Hudswell has recently been voted ‘the best pub in the UK’ and is a must-visit for a friendly Yorkshire welcome and a proper pie and in Leyburn, the Aysgarth Falls Hotel, a short stroll from the famous Aysgarth Falls, has a stunning beer garden overlooking a lovely garden, and in true Yorkshire style, there’s a number of proper ales to try while you’re there.

In Bloom!

As well as our own holiday homes gardens, Yorkshire has more than it’s fair share of award-winning gardens to enjoy during Springtime. At the heart of the North York Moors, Farndale, is famed for its annual display of daffodils, which begin to bloom at the beginning of April.

It is believed the daffodils were first brought to Farndale by medieval monks from nearby Rievaulx abbey. Enjoy the spectacular views on the 3-mile daffodil trail, which shows you the very best of the wildflower displays and ends with a pub to enjoy a local ale outdoors.

Holiday at Home, Here to help!

Holiday at Home have plenty of unique additional extras to make your stay with us even more memorable. Put your feet up this Spring and don’t worry about ways to feed the family during your stay this year, as we can arrange home-prepared meals (and wine) delivered to your door, meat boxes to enjoy on our outdoor BBQ’s or pop along to the food van at Brompton Lakes for a wood-fired pizza. Entertain the whole group with our complimentary cycle hire, tennis courts and wildlife spotting on-site at Brompton Lakes also!

Seaside Holidays!

Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside and there is no better seaside than the Yorkshire coastline. Relive those childhood seaside holidays with the sea lapping at your ankles, the sound of crashing waves on the cliffs, and the healthy sea breeze against your face. Yorkshire’s coastline is brimming with adventure, full of unique charm, from tiny fishing villages between Saltburn and Cloughton to the most picturesque stretches of white sand. There are cliff-top footpaths to walk, rugged cliffs with views to savour, hidden bays to discover and more… Enjoy some well-deserved fish and chips from any of the award-winning takeaways along the pier, whilst dipping your toes in the sea!
