Our top events this Christmas in Yorkshire...

Christmas at Fountains Abbey

Experience a very Yorkshire Christmas with the family at Fountains Abbey this year. Discover the family trail through acres of Yorkshire countryside and have a winter adventure watching the colourful abbey ruins aglow with music filling the cellarium, follow the river down to the sprawling water garden and spot wild deer roaming the medieval deer park. Warm-up with a mug of hot chocolate at the café and a spot of Christmas shopping at the shops. Breathe in the fresh Yorkshire air and experience Christmas how it’s meant to be; a time to make memories with your loved ones.

Christmas at Castle Howard

This year Castle Howard is offering visitors a chance to experience an enchanting twilight adventure with their ‘Christmas in Narnia’ show. Open daily, the ‘Christmas in Narnia’ event is best enjoyed after dark when guests can take in the twinkling lights and lavish decorations as they walk around the gardens and grounds. Pick up some last-minute presents and Christmas decorations with the late-night shopping events and feast on festive food and drinks from the popup trailers before visiting Father Christmas in his Grotto. Tickets are on sale now!

York Christmas Festival

This year, the hugely popular St Nicholas Fair will return to York. The charming alpine chalets will once again line the streets from 18 November to 23 December, with local businesses selling everything from handmade gifts to delicious treats. We love Christmas time in York with its restaurants, shops and beautifully decorated attractions.

Swinton Bivouac Christmas Trail

Gather the family for this festive trail which will lead you around the woodland at Swinton Bivouac. Follow the clues leading you to your favourite Christmas characters and stop off at the Bivouac’s Bistro Cafe where a selection of seasonal tipples will be on the menu – as well as the Bivouac classics!

Enchanted Festive Forest

Head to Raby Castle and follow the path through the Walled Gardens, which have been transformed into an Enchanted Festive Forest full of magic for Christmas. Stop for a delicious hot chocolate at the Stables Cafe and if you find all the things hidden on the trail you’ll collect a Christmas present at the end too!
