Brompton Lakes is a collection of 21 luxury lodges set around two beautiful lakes in the North Yorkshire countryside, just outside Richmond.
Brompton Lakes is located between the village of Brompton-on-Swale and Richmond in North Yorkshire, with Richmond town centre less than a 10-minute drive away.
Set within 26 acres of peaceful, private countryside, Brompton Lakes is a collection of 21 lodges as well as a private tennis court, a reception open seven days a week, and free bike hire.
Brompton Lakes has been thoughtfully designed to provide comfort, style, and a seamless connection with nature. Every lodge has a private terrace, with 18 lodges overlooking the lakes. Three lodges also feature private hot tubs, perfect for unwinding after a day exploring North Yorkshire.
Inside each lodge, you’ll find seamless indoor-outdoor living, a well-equipped kitchen, stylish open-plan living spaces, and luxurious bedrooms designed for a relaxing stay.

Each lodge is positioned around the site to make sure you have privacy throughout your stay. Each lodge also comes with private decking so that you can unwind and relax in peace.
Each lodge comes with free wi-fi, a modern kitchen including a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and Nespresso coffee machine, a washing machine and dryer in the utility room, Smart TV, DVD player, sound system and log burner in the living area.
You will also be provided with high-quality bed linen, towels for the hot tub and bathrooms, luxury toiletries, a starter pack for the kitchen, fire, and washroom, as well as a locally sourced welcome hamper.
Each lodge at Brompton Lakes is designed for a relaxing self-catering stay. A welcome hamper is provided with essentials such as tea, coffee, crisps, and milk to get you started.
For stocking up during your stay, you will find Lidl and Co-op in Richmond, and Tesco situated in Catterick Garrsion.
Lola, Jasper, Lulu, and Rebecca are all pet-free lodges at Brompton Lakes, perfect for those with allergies or who prefer a lodge where pets have not stayed before.
Three of the lodges at Brompton Lakes are wheelchair accessible (Lola, Juniper, and Flora).
For those with limited mobility, we recommend Cara, Jasper, Finley, William, and Lulu.
Yes, each lodge at Brompton Lakes comes with a charcoal barbeque, and you can order charcoal from us to be there when you arrive.
Brompton Lakes has a tennis court for guests to use during their stay, free of charge. Rackets and balls are provided in the box at the tennis court. You don’t need to book, just turn up and see if it is free.
Complimentary bike hire is available for you to use during your stay, just pop in to reception to fill out a form and collect your bike. We do ask that they are returned at the end of the day so that everyone has a fair chance of a bike ride during their stay.
Other games can be found at reception, such as boules and rounders.
Guests staying in our lodges at Brompton Lakes are very welcome to enjoy complimentary fishing on the lakes. While the lakes are no longer stocked due to previous issues with otters, fish can still be found in the water, although catches cannot be guaranteed, and some areas can be quite weedy.
Guests can also fish along the adjacent stretch of river, where we hold the fishing rights. Please note that a valid Environment Agency (EA) fishing licence is required.
Yes, there is a scenic 1-kilometre walking loop, making it easy to enjoy a peaceful morning stroll while taking in the beautiful lake views.
Yes, you can bring up to two dogs with you during your stay at Brompton Lakes for a small additional charge. Please note Lola, Jasper, Lulu, and Rebecca are all pet-free lodges. All lodges have enclosed decking so your dog has space to explore. There is also a 1km walking loop perfect for a morning and evening stroll.
Up to two dogs are welcome at Brompton Lakes, for an additional £10 per dog, per night. Lola, Jasper, Lulu, and Rebecca are all pet-free lodges.
Inside your lodge you’ll find a dog bowl, complimentary dog treats, and waste bags.
Three of the lodges at Brompton Lakes have hot tubs – Jules, Percy, and Twenty One.
Yes, each guest is supplied with towels and robes to use when staying in a lodge with a hot tub.
Yes, the jacuzzi-style hot tubs can be used year round. However, please note that the hot tubs are not covered.
Check-in is from 4:00 PM and check-out is before 10:00 AM.
If you would like an early check-in or late check-out please get in touch, and we will do our best to accommodate you (charges will apply).
Check-in and out is via a lock box on the lodge, and your booking confirmation email will confirm the details.

For a change in dates or length of stay, please get in touch, and we will be happy to help.
In the event of a cancellation, a full or partial refund will be given where we can resell the property over the booked dates. The deposit is non-refundable within 4 weeks of arrival, and the balance payment will be refunded if the dates are resold. A cancellation fee will apply to cover the cost of administration and remarketing. You can find out more in our Terms and Conditions.
We highly recommend you take out your own holiday insurance, which can also cover accidental damage during your stay. We do not offer holiday insurance, but there are lots of portals offering quotations online.
Yes, each lodge has parking for up to two cars, with spaces located close to the lodges for your convenience.
Yes, there are 18 charging ports around Brompton Lakes, plenty for all guests.
Guests staying at Brompton Lakes can explore nearby Richmond with attractions like Richmond Castle or the Georgian Theatre Royal, and a great choice of places to eat and drink. There are many scenic walks and cycling routes across the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a short drive away. Catterick Racecourse is a few miles down the road with racing all year round. Further afield there are many charming Yorkshire market towns to explore such as Leyburn, Bedale and Masham.
Yes, Brompton Lakes is a 5 minutes’ drive into Richmond where you will find several restaurants in Richmond, including Rustique, Number 29 Tapas Bar, The Little Drummer Boy Tearoom, and La Cocina. Richmond also offers a variety of dog-friendly pubs, cafés, and places to eat during your stay.
