Set in the heart of North Yorkshire, Woodlands is one of twelve luxury log cabins in the tranquil grounds of Sun Hill Lodges. With large private gardens and a fantastic vista, each lodge offers privacy and plenty of space. Picture roaring log fires in the winter and long soaks in the hot tub in the summer, set against a stunning Yorkshire backdrop, and you'll get a sense of what's on offer at this luxury lodge cabin. The charming market towns of Leyburn and Middleham are within easy reach, and there is a choice of great walks from this dog-friendly log cabin.

Woodlands Lodge is a roomy three-bedroom log cabin with plenty of space to entertain and catch up during your group getaway. A recent refurbishment combines modern interiors with the rustic charm of this cabin. The high ceilings, soft lighting, luxury touches, and stunning views from each room make this a magical place to make memories on your Yorkshire break. You'll find a wood-burning stove, comfy sofas, and a Smart TV. The sittin area is open plan with the dining area, which has a dining table with seating for six. The kitchen beyond is fully equipped for a self-catering break.

This beautiful luxury lodge cabin sleeps up to six guests plus pooches and is the perfect destination for a family or group of friends. There are three bedrooms, each with a private en-suite. The first bedroom has a fixed super king-sized bed, and the second and third bedrooms have zip-and-link super king-sized beds, which can be split into twins. Each room boasts large windows that frame the breathtaking North Yorkshire countryside – the perfect view to wake up to each morning.

Open the doors wide onto a peaceful and private patio, ideal for spotting the horses in the nearby fields. Whilst enjoying the sweeping views over the Yorkshire Dales, cook food fresh from the Friday market in Leyburn on the gas BBQ, gathered around the fire pit. Year-round, relax in the jacuzzi-style hot tub under the stars. When you wander through the garden, you'll find the private pond with its own seating area. Sit back and recharge while the local family of ducks potters by!

There is wi-fi throughout Woodlands Lodge. On arrival, you will find a locally sourced welcome hamper. The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering accommodation, with an oven, electric hob, microwave and fridge freezer. The barbecue outside is gas. A starter pack for the log burner includes logs and firelighters, and more can be purchased during your stay. Parking is available for two cars next to the lodge.

The stay includes high-quality bed linen, towels, bathrobes and a small selection of toiletries. Families can request a travel cot and a high chair for an infant in advance. Please note there is a washing machine but no tumble dryer.

Up to two dogs are welcome in this luxury lodge cabin, although it is not well suited to more than one large dog. Please note that the garden within this property is not regarded as enclosed although it is fenced. Please keep an eye on those excitable pooches in particular as it is not escape proof!

Woodlands Lodge is nestled within the grounds of Sun Hill Lodges, a collection of 12 luxury lodge cabins in the UK. Allow the dedicated operations team at Sun Hill Lodges to enhance your stay with various in-lodge exclusives ready for your arrival.

The luxury cabins at Sun Hill Lodges are located on the grounds of racehorse trainer Ann Duffield and her husband, legendary jockey George Duffield MBE. Stable tours can be arranged on request. The beauty of this cabin in the Yorkshire Dales is seeing the horses training on the gallops that run beyond the end of the garden.

All 12 of these Leyburn lodges are set away from the stables, so there’s privacy in the property and the garden. The cabins are thoughtfully spaced out, with no neighbouring lodge overlooking you, offering complete privacy throughout your stay.

On your own private driveway, there is space for two cars. A ramp and steps lead up to the lodge which then has flagstones surrounding it.

There is one small step to get inside, then the lodge is all on one level and so is well suited to guests with limited mobility.

This is accommodation with a ground floor bedroom and a walk-in step-free shower.

In The Area

Leyburn is often referred to as the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales and is the closest town, 4 miles from this luxury lodge cabin in the UK. The market square offers a wonderful blend of independent shops and places to eat. Try delicious artisan chocolates from Inspired Chocolate or browse the sales at the famous Tennant’s auction house which also has a great cafe. The Sandpiper Inn and the Bolton Arms pub in the town are both great options, and have a dog-friendly bar.

Stock up your cupboards at the award-winning Campbell’s of Leyburn; family-run since 1868, it is a supermarket and wine retailer. On Friday’s do make sure to visit Leyburn’s weekly market full of local produce.
