Sharon Dale from the Yorkshire Post shares her thoughts on our latest holiday home renovation, Hollins Farmhouse. Read her interview with the proud owner, Harry Scrope, about his work developing Hollins from dilapidated farmhouse to fabulous holiday let:
‘Harry Scrope, the owner of Hollins Farmhouse is no stranger to multi-tasking since taking over the reins at the family home, Danby Hall, near Leyburn. Overseeing the 1,500-acre estate and its 22 properties. “There’s always something to do and if I think I can do it, I’ll have a go.” Most lately, he has turned his attention to interior design while project managing the transformation of an estate farmhouse near Middleham into a fabulous five-bedroom holiday let.’

‘Furniture is a mix of new finds plus old ones that add the essential character says Harry who upcycled a redundant altar table from a church. A piece which now graces the hall. With art another major feature, there is work by local artists. Alongside paintings from Dancy Hall and from auctions, along with a cricketing print, which reflects Harry’s love of the game.’
Outside is a large lawn, a purpose-built office with wifi, a private terrace and a gazebo for alfresco dining for up to 12 guests. Making the space perfect for hosting day or night whilst admiring the breathtaking scenery.
