We never need an excuse to escape the everyday ordinary. With the next school holidays just around the corner, now is the perfect time to leave the January blues behind us and book a family-friendly February Half Term Holidays in North Yorkshire.
Holiday at Home has the perfect escape for a half term break, well equipped with everything needed to keep our younger guests happy. Our family-friendly holiday homes offer games rooms, cinema snugs and large enclosed gardens to entertain the kids (and big kids) this February half term.
At Brompton Lakes we have something for all ages, with complimentary bike hire, tennis courts and a games area to keep your group entertained as well as log-burning hot tubs to sink into and your own roaring log fire to snuggle up to in each lodge after a long day exploring the local area.
With a whole week off, this allows plenty of time for fun day trips and some much-needed relaxation. With a little planning and imagination, we can make sure this half term break is the most memorable for all the family…

All of our luxury holiday homes are located close to the Yorkshire Dales, including in and around Richmond and Leyburn in North Yorkshire. Both are known for being among Britain’s most beautiful market towns, with so much to offer the whole family, right from your doorstep. Explore Richmond’s 11th Century castle or Middleham Castle, both teeming with history. There are fine historic buildings, museums, riverside walks and a large cobbled marketplace with a good choice of boutiques, pubs, and restaurants to keep the family happy this half term…
With endless adventures on your doorstep there are plenty of award-winning attractions in the area, your children will be entertained from dawn to dusk before heading back to your holiday home.
On a rainy day, spend your day getting lost in The Station, a stunning riverside Victorian railway building in Richmond with a café, award-winning artisan food shops, art gallery and a cinema that has recently been named by the Guardian as one of the Top 10 Independent cinemas.
There are plenty of places to explore with the family further afield too. Whether you fancy a day out at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal with medieval ruins, tranquil water gardens and a deer park, or why not meet the animals at Thorp Perrow arboretum and watch a flying demonstration at the Bird of Prey centre
Whether you fancy a wander around a historic park or a hair-raising trip to a theme park it’s all within an hours’ drive. Yorkshire is full of family-friendly attractions, and we love days out to the Yorkshire Dales with its many trails, waterfalls and bike routes to enjoy. We can also recommend The Forbidden Corner and exploring the coast’s long sandy beaches and fish and chips on the esplanade.
Stockeld Park has everything you need for a fun-filled family day out! While we can't promise sunshine, we can guarantee a day packed with excitement and memories to last a lifetime. Whether you're gliding across the ice rink, exploring the magical Enchanted Forest, or venturing into the incredible Playhive.
Discover the perfect spot for family fun or catching up with friends at Newby Hall. Explore the 18th-century house and award-winning gardens on a guided tour. Kids will love the Adventure Garden with swings, climbing frames, and pedalo boats, while the whole family can enjoy the Tarantella water play area.
Just outside of Bedale, this farm offers a fantastic day out for all ages. Get hands-on with the animals by feeding lambs and calves, caring for the sheep, cuddling goats, and even bathing the pig, all while a friendly guide shares their stories. You can also enjoy a pony ride or take part in the farm quiz.
