Autumn there is nothing better than getting wrapped up warm and exploring the
ever changing crisp and colourful North Yorkshire landscape whilst at its best
before retiring with a glass of wine or local ale in front of a roaring log
it just doesn’t get much better...Follow us every day throughout October as we
Richmond is within walking distance of many of
our luxury holiday properties… For our guests staying at Brompton Lakes, wrap
up warm, dig out your walking boots and follow the trail through acres of picturesque
countryside, via the impressive ruins of Easby Abbey before walking across
Richmond Bridge with fabulous riverside views to The Station, a stunning
Victorian railway building with a café, award winning bakery and even a cinema.
After you have filled yourself with fabulous
cakes and coffee from the Station, stroll along the fast-flowing River Swale and
treat yourself to an ice cream whilst taking in the tranquil sounds of Richmond
Falls. Be sure to visit Richmond Castle, one of the greatest Norman fortresses
in Britain, with breathtaking views across the Yorkshire Dales, interactive
exhibitions and a chance to stroll round the secluded Cockpit Garden.
Next stop is the Market Place, at the centre
and tea rooms, before retiring for the evening at The Fleece Hotel, which has
been recently renovated and has an impressive cocktail menu and lots of local
yummy food to enjoy. (We recommend saving some space for the chocolate brownie
for desert too!)
On Saturdays make sure you don’t miss the
Saturday Market in the Market Place!
