Dog friendly holiday home

Terms & Conditions – Dogs

What To Know Before Your Dog Friendly Holiday

Within the Holiday at Home collection, the majority of our properties are holiday cottages that accept dogs. With most homes located in the countryside, many of which benefit from their own private gardens or patios, we have the perfect locations for you and your canine companions.

Please specify at the time of booking if you intend to bring your dog(s). An extra charge is applicable of £10 per animal per night, with up to a maximum of two pets allowed in each property. For larger properties, an additional dog may be accommodated, however, this must be done by prior arrangement. In order to enquire about this possibility, it is recommended that you contact the team prior to making your booking.

Registered guide and hearing dogs belonging to those with visual and hearing impairments stay without charge. Where a Guest has an assistance dog, it is appreciated that Holiday at Home is made aware before arrival.

Canine Code of Conduct

In our experience it’s rare to find luxury holiday cottages that accept dogs, but we believe the two needn’t be mutually exclusive! For your pet’s safety and the consideration of other guests, we do ask that dogs and their owners follow a few simple rules while they are staying:

  • Dogs must always be properly controlled and supervised. Not all outside areas of dog friendly homes are completely escape-proof for dogs. If you need advice on finding the most appropriate dog friendly holiday home for you, please contact our team.
  • Dogs must not be left unattended in the holiday properties.
  • Dogs are not permitted in bedrooms or on any furniture. We therefore advise owners to bring a dog basket where one is not already clearly included at the property. This is in order to keep the houses in the highest condition for all our guests.
  • Guests are asked to clean up after dogs, both inside and outside of the property, or extra cleaning costs may be charged. Special bins are available around most properties for the disposal of dog waste.

Prohibited Breeds

In the interest of guest safety – especially children – and the welfare of other guests’ dogs, the following breeds of dogs are not allowed at Brompton Lakes or Greenbank Barns due to the lack of enclosed private garden areas. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.

  1. Breeds classified under the Dangerous Dogs Act:
Pit Bull Terriers, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila Braziliero.
  2. Other prohibited breeds:
Rottweilers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Chow Chows, Alaskan Malamutes, Bull Mastiffs, English Bull Terriers, Japanese Akitas.

Dog Sitting Service

Pet Pals is a local dog walking and sitting service. So, if you are popping out for the evening and require a dog sitter, or are out for the day and need your dog walking, then a fully trained member of the Pet Pals team should be able to assist you. Please contact Pet Pals direct on 01748 876555 or 07736 960114.
