Created with comfort and luxury group getaways in mind, Field Cottage offers a warm and inviting setting for shared moments spending time with loved ones.

A private barn conversion with an enclosed garden, there is plenty of outdoor space and far-reaching views over the fields beyond. The hot tub is nicely tucked to the side of the house for privacy, accessed through wide patio doors from the kitchen and living area. For larger gatherings, book Field Cottage alongside its neighbour Wheatsheaf Barn to sleep up to 16 guests in a property collectively known as The Big Green Barn.

Step through the front door into Field Cottage, where a light-filled open-plan living, kitchen and dining area creates an inviting space to settle in and unwind together. The well-equipped kitchen and breakfast bar sit alongside an eight-seater dining table, perfect for easy, home-cooked meals and unhurried gatherings. The kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge freezer, separate drinks fridge, oven, hob and dishwasher. Patio doors open straight out from the garden and the hot tub area, which is set to the side of the house.

Thoughtfully designed for relaxed group stays, the sitting area features a Smart TV and plenty of comfortable seating for socialising throughout the day. Expansive windows and a skylight allow natural light to pour in, giving the space an airy feel by day and the chance to stargaze by night.

Tucked away within the cottage is a dedicated games room, complete with table football, darts board, comfortable seating and a Smart TV perfect for keeping children entertained and adults relaxed.

Just off the entrance you will find a separate utility room with a washer, dryer and w/c.

Field Cottage offers four comfortable bedrooms with relaxation in mind. Upstairs are three bedrooms, each with a different design and views over the unspoilt surrounding countryside. Two bedrooms feautre super-king beds, one of these is en-suite with a walk in shower. In these rooms, both beds can also be arranged as twins, providing flexibility for families and group stays. The third bedroom has a fixed king-sized bed. You will find a well-appointed main house bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The ground-floor bedroom is spacious and has a super-king bed that can also split into twin beds. In here is an en-suite bathroom with a shower. This space is well suited to guests with limited mobility.

Between the house and the driveway is a large fully enclosed garden, with a private jacuzzi hot tub and an alfresco dining table and chairs. The patio doors from the kitchen open onto the hot tub area, which is private to the side of the house.

A charcoal BBQ is available. Guests are welcome to bring their own charcoal, or this can be provided at an additional cost.

New for 2026: The lawn area is newly laid, with further landscaping taking place in spring. Outdoor soft seating will also be added, completing the space for relaxed outdoor living.

To give larger groups priority, the cottages are usually released for individual 4-bedroom bookings around four months in advance.

This cottage can be booked together with its neighbouring property Wheatsheaf Barn to create The Big Green Barn, a spacious and flexible group stay sleeping up to 16 guests. Connected by an interlinking door, the two cottages allow everyone to come together while still enjoying the comfort and privacy of separate living spaces.

Field Cottage is accessed from the car parking area and benefits from a stone ramp leading to the entrance, making it better suited for guests with reduced mobility. Please note there is a small lip at the external doorway.

The cottage is arranged across two floors, with the main living spaces on the ground floor. This includes an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, a games room and a ground-floor bedroom with a walk-in shower, along with a WC and utility room. When booked as part of The Big Green Barn, the games room connects to Wheatsheaf Barn via an interconnecting door, allowing group stays of up to 16 guests across one level.

Upstairs, additional bedrooms and bathrooms are accessed via stairs. All bedrooms can be arranged as twins on request, except bedroom 7.

Private parking is available directly outside the cottage with space for multiple vehicles alongside an EV charging station. Travel cots and high chairs can be provided on request for families.

In The Area

The historic city of Ripon (6 miles) is just a short drive away from this large holiday cottage in Yorkshire and ideal for group days out, with Ripon Cathedral, regular events and markets, and a great choice of independent shops, cafés and restaurants.

The traditional market town of Masham (7 miles) is home to the famous Black Sheep Brewery, perfect for group visits and tastings, as well as Johnny Baghdad’s, a popular and relaxed spot for casual dining in the market square. Thirsk (10 miles) offers independent shops, cafés and convenient rail links for those travelling from further afield.
