The Swaledale

After a day of countryside cavorting there is nothing cosier than retreating to your own tranquil space. Relax on the sumptuous sofa for film nights in, or pick up some local produce from town to enjoy at the dining table which seats four. The open-plan kitchen offers all the essentials needed on a self-catering break; there is an electric oven, induction hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, and the all-important Lavazza capsule coffee machine for a morning fix.

Fully renovated in 2021, The Old School Rooms have a clean and minimalist aesthetic. Every design detail at The Swaledale has been carefully considered, with whitewashed wood panelling throughout, artwork from local artists, and modern lighting overhead. This charming romantic break for couples offers a slice of country living on modern terms.

Outside lies a small shared courtyard with parking and a bistro table and two chairs. Grab a sundowner outside or perch with a book on warm summer days. When you are ready to stretch your legs, take a leisurely stroll into Richmond to experience the buzz of a traditional Yorkshire market town.

Bedroom...

At night a comfy king-size bed awaits, complete with heavenly bedding, a pocket sprung mattress, and soft linens. We promise a peaceful slumber, well deserved on a romantic break for couples or after a day's adventure. Think large sumptuous velvet headboards with soft cushions and throws to snuggle into. There is a large mirror, plenty of storage space and an overhead fan for warmer months.

The contemporary bathroom adjoins the bedroom, with a second door to the living area. There is a large walk-in rainfall shower, and the vanity unit has a large over-sink mirror.

For small families there is a concealed double bed in the living area. For new families, your first trip away with your baby can be one of the most memorable, and this is a great baby-friendly bolthole. If you're lucky, the grandparents might book The Wensleydale downstairs allowing you to slope off for a romantic evening!

Practicalities...

There is off-street parking in the courtyard for one car. The modern kitchen is well-equipped for your stay, with cutlery, crockery, cookware and a few under-sink items to get you going. There is an iron, though no washing machine. The wi-fi throughout is suitable for home working, and there is a smart TV in the living room.

Arrival is from 4pm, and enjoy a welcome pack with items such as bread, butter, milk, a selection of speciality teas and coffee, and some capsules for the coffee machine. You will have high-quality bed linen, towels, soap and hand wash in the bedroom and bathroom. Check-out is 11am.

A cot and highchair are available on request. The concealed double bed in the living room is suitable for children; available for a small additional charge, and will have a free-standing privacy screen around it.
