Darcy Mews is located on Riverside Road in the Georgian market town of Richmond, offering stunning views of Richmond Falls and the River Swale. Set underneath the ramparts of an 11th century Norman castle, Darcy Mews is the site of the old gasworks. Now transformed into five stunning apartments, the building still retains many of the characteristics of the original buildings.
With many walks from your doorstep, Darcy Mews is the ideal self-catering holiday home for exploring North Yorkshire and is a haven for walkers and cyclists. Walk along the riverside and take in the falls, which are particularly striking after a rainy day. Follow the trail to Richmond Bridge, rewarding yourself with a treat from the award-winning bakery in The Station, a converted Victorian railway building. On Saturdays, make sure you don’t miss the Market in Richmond's marketplace.
While staying at Darcy Mews, we recommend you visit Richmond Castle. It is a short walk up Millgate into the marketplace for anything you need during your stay; it's a bit of a hill but definitely worth the journey. Richmond benefits from plenty of historic buildings, small museums and the fantastic Georgian Theatre. The large cobbled marketplace is a treasure trove of thriving shops, pubs and restaurants. We've also put together an ale trail for a fun afternoon exploring Richmond.
