Weave your way up cobbled streets and stone staircases to the top of the hill, where you will find Knaresborough castle perched on the cliffs with stunning views overlooking the River Nidd. Take a tour of the castle and discover the medieval 14th century history of the King’s chamber, visit the dungeon and scurry through the secret underground exit.
Stroll around the market place in the centre of town with lots of local shops and great places to eat. On a Wednesday stalls fill the market place offering local produce at the ever popular Knaresborough market.
Hop on the train in to Harrogate for a bit more shopping and glide over the imposing railway viaduct looking down on the River Nidd which offers an amazing view. Make sure you try a slice of homemade cake at the famous Bettys tea room whilst you're there.
