Green tones run throughout this two-bedroom lodge, reflecting the surrounding landscape and creating a seamless connection between the interiors and their natural surroundings.

Once inside, the eye is naturally drawn towards the incredible North Yorkshire views, beautifully showcased by the large gable window in the living area. Natural light complements the Scandinavian aesthetic, inviting guests to take it all in from the comfy sofa or built-in bench seating while planning a day exploring the local area. A fully-equipped kitchenette with oven, hob, fridge (with ice box), and dishwasher makes staying in easy. Underfloor heating throughout keeps the lodge cosy whatever the season.

The high ceilings continue through the two en-suite bedrooms with clean lines and a calming palette, capturing the essence of Scandinavian design. Each bedroom can be arranged as a super-king double or as a twin, offering flexibility for couples, families or friends.

The first bedroom features an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The second slightly larger bedroom boasts an en-suite with a free-standing bath and a separate shower.

Occupying a desirable end-plot position, guests can make the most of the private garden, from soaking up the unspoilt views from the hot tub to sharing a meal on the private patio. A stylish pergola covers the jacuzzi-style hot tub so guests can enjoy it year-round. A charcoal BBQ, complemented by acacia wood and stone tables and seating for four, completes the outdoor space.

Yes, Ake lodge is our two-bedroom lodge at Greenbank Lodges and is well-suited to families. Each bedroom is en-suite and has the flexibility to be arranged as a double or a twin to accommodate families. There is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy, including a lawn that wraps around the lodge, a private paved patio and a jacuzzi-style hot tub. Please note the garden is not enclosed. There are plenty of family-friendly activities in the local area, including Ellerton Lake (a freshwater lake and a water sports centre), Raby Castle, and Mother Shipton’s Cave. Families will also enjoy easy access to the Yorkshire Dales for scenic walking and cycling routes.

What amenities are provided in this lodge?

Guests can enjoy a well-equipped kitchenette with a four-ring hob, combi microwave/oven, kettle, toaster, under-counter fridge with ice box, dishwasher, utensils and crockery. Great care has been taken to ensure each lodge enjoys uninterrupted views of the stunning Yorkshire countryside. On the same peaceful site, and a few minutes' walk from Ake is Greenbank Barns, a collection of three luxury large holiday homes - perfect for bigger group gatherings, family getaways and celebrations.

Ake Lodge is the first lodge you arrive at when entering Greenbank Lodges. This single-storey lodge is ideal for friends, couples, and small families looking for a relaxing countryside escape.

Parking is conveniently located to the right of the lodge. Please note there is a small step at the entrance and steps leading down to the hot tub area.

At the heart of the lodge is a bright and spacious open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area. The stunning large gable-end window floods the space with natural light and frames beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, creating a welcoming setting for relaxing, dining, and spending time together.

The lodge features two spacious bedrooms, each with a super king-size bed. The bedroom with the green headboard has an en-suite shower room, while the bedroom with the beige headboard has an en-suite bathroom featuring a walk-in shower and a luxurious freestanding bath.

Please note that both en-suite showers have a small step for access.

With its thoughtful single-level layout, stylish interiors, and excellent facilities, Ake Lodge provides a comfortable and relaxing base for your stay at Greenbank Lodges.

In The Area

While Greenbank Lodges feel perfectly private, there are plenty of places to explore on your doorstep. An easy one-kilometre walking loop follows the site perimeter, taking in the open countryside immediately surrounding the lodges. It is not uncommon to spot wildlife - rabbits, hares, deer and a variety of birds are regular visitors to the site, and the ducks are often seen around the grounds.

Just a mile away is the village of Ravensworth, home to the popular Bay Horse pub and the remains of the 14th-Century Ravensworth Castle. The market towns of Richmond and Barnard Castle are both 15 to 20 minutes away, with a great selection of heritage sites, restaurants, cafés, and independent shops.
