Greenbank Lodges FAQs

General Questions

Greenbank Lodges is our collection of 10 luxury lodges with hot tubs, set in 150 acres of private land in North Yorkshire, just outside Ravensworth village. Four of the lodges sleep up to four guests (Ake, Hekla, Olof, Freyja), and six lodges sleep up to two guests (Osa, Ylfa, Ari, Sigrun, Elvar, Von).

Greenbank Lodges is situated midway between Richmond and Barnard Castle (both 15 minutes’ drive). The lodges are just a few minutes’ drive from the A66 and 5 miles from the Scotch Corner junction of the A1(M) motorway.

Greenbank Lodges is designed with comfort, simplicity, and a connection to nature in mind. The lodges have been built in the UK to the highest specification to create a luxury self-catering retreat in the heart of North Yorkshire, making them an excellent choice for solo travellers, couples, families, and groups of friends. Every lodge benefits from its own private garden with a covered hot tub and is positioned for privacy and, more importantly, to make the most of the far-reaching views.

Inside, the efficient heating and well-insulated interiors mean the lodges are suitable year-round. Well-equipped kitchenettes are designed with self-catering breaks in mind. If you choose to eat out there is an excellent variety of places to eat close by, as well as a village pub within walking distance. Greenbank Lodges welcomes dogs, and the local area is a great choice for dog-friendly pubs and restaurants.

The convenient location makes Greenbank Lodges an ideal base for exploring North Yorkshire’s local attractions and market towns. The Yorkshire Dales are right on your doorstep, with scenic walks and cycling routes to explore.

Each two-bedroom lodge (Ake, Hekla, Olof, Freyja) is separated by a purpose-built bund that provides privacy and separation between the neighbouring lodges.

The one-bed lodges (Osa, Ylfa, Ari, Sigrun, Elvar, Von) are spaced apart, with wrap-around gardens and staggered in their layout to ensure guests can enjoy privacy while making the most of the views. The hot tubs are located to the left-hand side of each lodge and are screened from neighbouring properties.

While Greenbank Lodges are not glamping accommodation, they do offer many of the experiences associated with glamping in Yorkshire, including the close connection to nature, wildlife, a tranquil setting, and beautiful countryside surroundings. Unlike a typical glamping holiday in Yorkshire, our luxury lodges offer additional comfort and privacy, including private gardens, jacuzzi-style hot tubs, heated interiors, comfortable living areas, and elegant Scandinavian-inspired interiors.
