Nestled between mature trees, Cara is a popular choice for its easy access and its large wrap-around windows which look straight onto the lakes. A stunning three-bedroom lodge which is West facing for teh evening sunshine, this dog-friendly holiday lodge has impressive lakefront views and all of the wildlife action. Inside, you are welcomed into an open-plan kitchen and living space. This makes for an easy transition throughout the day, and it brings everyone together for some unforgettable memories. Easily take a stroll around the lakes or further afield to Easby Abbey and Richmond beyond, or stay onsite to borrow bikes or play a game of tennis for something a little bit different…
You will find everything you should need for a luxury self-catering break in this lakeside holiday lodge in Yorkshire. Enjoy the cosy log burning stove in the comfy seating area, or relax outside on the private deck that wraps around this lakeside lodge. You can unwind and enjoy safe in the knowledge that your four-legged friends aren’t going to wander off in this dog-friendly lodge with secure outside space.
This lodge houses an open plan living and dining area along with a modern kitchen and dining space with a wonderful outlook over the lake. Glass sliding doors lead to an enclosed private deck. This is the perfect space for a spot of al fresco dining, with a charcoal BBQ and rattan sofas to relax on and watch the surrounding wildlife. Cara is a more accessible lodge with step-free access from the parking.
Cara has three bedrooms, sleeping up to six guests in absolute comfort. The spacious master bedroom is en-suite with a shower. There is a house bathroom with a shower over the bath shared by the further two bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have zip-and-link beds which are super-king sized and can be split into twins, whilst the third bed is a king size. A cot and a highchair are available on request for families.
Each lodge here at Brompton Lakes has been individually designed by renowned interior designer Rosie Mennem. Cara is a beautiful log cabin with a touch of Scandinavian rustic charm due to the colour tones throughout. The carefully selected upcycled furniture creates a cosy and traditional feel. We love the contrast between neutral tones of the master bedroom which create a sense of calm, alongside the use of rich colours and tweed fabrics in the living room which make for the perfect space to enjoy a cosy night in front of the log burner.
The modern kitchen has a full inventory for that home from home experience, including a large fridge freezer and dishwasher. There are is a washer dryer in the utility room, and in the living area is a Smart TV, DVD player and sound system. There is good wi-fi in the lodge.
A locally sourced welcome hamper will greet you on arrival. Our luxury lodges include high-quality bed linen, towels, and a small selection of luxury toiletries. There is a starter pack under the kitchen sink, for the log burner and in the utility room.
Private parking is available for two cars outside each of the Brompton Lakes holiday lodges in Yorkshire. Sixteen electric vehicle points are also available at two of the car parks on site. Charging is not included in booking, please refer to the guestbook for more details.

Brompton Lakes is on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, which has many walks, cycling routes and stunning attractions. The location makes a perfect choice for a dog-friendly stay. We recommend an explore of Easby Abbey on a walk into the closest town Richmond, 2.5 miles away. Other nearby market towns to visit include Leyburn and Barnard Castle. Each offers history and culture, restaurants, shopping and a weekly market filled with local produce.
