With uninterrupted views of the wildlife from a private south-facing lakefront terrace, it is no wonder why Finley is considered so popular amongst our lodges that are dog-friendly. Pops of colour pair with neutral tones throughout to give a warm and welcoming feel.

The Scandinavian design, carefully considered interiors, and eco-credentials make Brompton Lakes a perfect lakeside getaway. Being South-facing, Finley enjoys the best of the light throughout the day. Inside, you are met with an open-plan kitchen and living area with wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows. Snuggle up by the log burner on an evening or make the most of the private decking for some alfresco dining in warmer months. This lodge is perfect for a family getaway, where you can venture to nearby Richmond for entertainment or the Yorkshire Dales beyond. If you plan to stay within the lakes, make use of the tennis court or stroll around the pretty lakes.

Details

With one of the best views of the West lake, Finley enjoys sunshine throughout the day from its south-facing vista. Spacious open-plan living is at the heart of this luxury lodge, with full-height glass sliding doors leading out to the large private decking area. This is the perfect outdoor space for alfresco dining, with a charcoal BBQ and rattan outdoor seating from which to enjoy the surrounding wildlife. There is step-free access and the terrace is secure, and this is one of the lodges that is dog friendly, so your pup can join with no chance of escaping.

This luxury lodge has a modern kitchen, well equipped with everything you should need on a self-catering holiday in North Yorkshire. The spacious and stylish living area is made cosy with the log-burning stove and comfy colourful sofas. Plan an indulgent evening in and relax in front of a film on the smart TV or treat yourself to a meal catered for by one of our excellent private partner chefs.

Finley sleeps up to six guests and each bedroom is uniquely designed. The master bedroom has a super-king-sized bed, plenty of storage and an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom also has a super-king bed that can also be set as a twin room. This shares the house bathroom with the third king bedroom.

Each lodge at Brompton Lakes has been individually designed by interior designer Rosie Mennem. Finley is a luxury lodge with a touch of Scandinavian style and gorgeous pops of colour throughout, such as the violet sofa in the living area. We love how Rosie has paired the rich colours alongside more neutral tones in the kitchen to add warmth to the space, perfect for cosying up throughout the winter months.

Finley is also a more accessible lodge with step-free access and just a small lip over the door threshold. Its parking is along a short path from the rear of the luxury lodge.

During your stay, venture out and take a stroll around the award-winning Brompton Lakes. You can play boules, make use of complimentary bikes for adults and children or enjoy a game of tennis. For a more serene stay, relax on the private decking and appreciate the idyllic location and wonderful wildlife.

The Practicalities

There is free wi-fi in the lodge and parking right outside. The modern kitchen has a full inventory for that home-from-home experience; there's a fridge freezer, dishwasher, and all the cooking equipment you should need. There is a washer-dryer in the separate utility room. As well as a Smart TV, there's a DVD player and Bluetooth sound system. In the lodges that are dog friendly, two pets are allowed at a small additional charge per night.

All our luxury lodges include high-quality bed linen, towels and toiletries. There's a starter pack under the kitchen sink, as well as for the fire and washroom and, of course, a locally sourced welcome hamper.

This dog-friendly lakeside lodge has a fishing peg that guests are welcome to use. Please note we do not stock the lake and do not advertise fishing lakes, though there are fish to catch and release.

Private parking is available for two cars outside the lodge. Sixteen electric vehicle points are also available at two of the car parks on site. Charging is not included in the booking, please refer to the guestbook for more details.

The living, kitchen, and dining area are open plan, with floor to ceiling windows onto the private decking area. Please note, the corridor layout is less well suited to wheelchair users than other layout of Brompton Lakes lodges. There is a small utility room behind the kitchen with washing facilities.

The path from the parking area and into the lodge is all on one level. The gate on each end of the decking makes it enclosed, though very small dogs may not be secure to the front. There is a small lip over the door threshold, and accessibility aids can be requested.

A three-bedroom, two-bathroom lodge. There is a master bedroom with an ensuite shower room, where the shower has a step in; shower aids can be requested. The second and third bedrooms share a large house bathroom with a bath that has a shower overhead.

In The Area

Brompton Lakes is close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, which has many walks, cycling routes and stunning attractions. There are plenty of family-friendly activities nearby such as the Forbidden Corner or Lightwater Valley theme park. Aysgarth Falls or Richmond Falls are two of our favourite spots for a stunning walk. While we can recommend the Georgian Theatre for some culture.

The market town of Richmond is just a few miles away in walking distance, and Barnard Castle and Leyburn are a short drive away. Each offers history and culture, restaurants, shopping and the weekly markets filled with local produce. Many of the shops and pubs near the lodges are dog friendly and are extremely accommodating for your 4-legged friends.
