With views of the River Swale and a short walk into Richmond, this luxury apartment is the perfect holiday for all the family..

No.1 at Darcy Mews is a three-bedroom luxury holiday home in Richmond, North Yorkshire. An idyllic location by the River Swale and Richmond Falls, it is a short walk into the market square where you will find plenty of amenities, shops and restaurants. No.1 is one of a collection of five luxury self-catering holiday apartments at Darcy Mews.

The spacious open plan living and dining area are on the first floor. The cosy seating area looks out towards the River Swale and includes a TV and DVD player. The well-equipped modern kitchen has everything you need and more on a luxury self-catering holiday in Yorkshire. From the dining area, step out onto a small south-facing terrace with outdoor seating; a lovely spot for a morning coffee and with views across to the river.

The master bedroom is on the top floor of the luxury apartment and is spacious with high ceilings and its own private balcony. The bed is king-sized and has an en-suite bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. The patio door from the bedroom leads to the outdoor seating on the balcony, with views across the park towards the River. For a family-friendly holiday, there is space in here for a child in a cot or on a Z-bed which can be hired.

Two of the beautifully decorated bedrooms are located on the ground floor. Both bedrooms have king-size zip and link beds so can be set up as twins or a double to suit. This makes them perfect for accommodating both a group getaway or a family holiday in Yorkshire. These two bedrooms share the house bathroom on the ground floor, which has a bath and a stylish walk-in shower.

We know how much fun it is to take your dog on holiday, they are an important part of a family holiday. No.1 is a dog-friendly holiday home, so now you don’t need to leave anybody behind! For families with children, just beyond the grounds of Darcy Mews is a park with play equipment, plus there are plenty of walks along by the river.

In the area…

Darcy Mews is located on Riverside Road in the Georgian market town of Richmond, offering stunning views of Richmond Falls and the River Swale. Set underneath the ramparts of an 11th century Norman castle, Darcy Mews is the site of the old gasworks. Now transformed into five stunning apartments, the building still retains many of the characteristics of the original buildings.

With many walks from your doorstep, Darcy Mews is the ideal family-friendly holiday home for exploring North Yorkshire and is a haven for walkers and cyclists. Walk along the riverside and take in the falls, which are particularly striking after a rainy day. Follow the trail to Richmond Bridge, rewarding yourself with a treat from the award-winning bakery in The Station, a converted Victorian railway building. On Saturdays, make sure you don’t miss the Market in Richmond’s marketplace.

While staying at Darcy Mews, we recommend you visit Richmond Castle. It is a short walk to Richmond’s marketplace with its historic buildings, museums and the fantastic Georgian Theatre. The large cobbled marketplace is a treasure trove of thriving shops, pubs and restaurants. We’ve also put together an ale trail for a fun afternoon exploring Richmond.

Further afield, discover the many top attractions in the Yorkshire Dales. One of our favourite summer days out is to explore Jervaulx Abbey and then head to Brymoor for delicious ice cream. Explore Yorkshire with our recommendations for what to do in the area.

Practicalities…

There is free wi-fi in the apartment, a TV and DVD player. The modern kitchen is well equipped for your stay, with cutlery, crockery, cookware and a few under-sink items to get you going.
