In The Area

Ellesmere Barn is tucked away amongst glorious countryside in the heart of North Yorkshire. It is only a short walk or drive to the village of Crakehall, with a local pub on the village green, and for families, there is a play park to enjoy and pretty walks along the beck that winds through the village. Only a short drive away you will find the Green Tree Inn at Patrick Brompton, a fiery Gastropub at the core of the community, serving a bespoke menu crafted from local Yorkshire produce.

The Georgian market town Bedale is a 5-minute drive, boasting a rich historical tapestry and surrounded by some of Yorkshire’s most picturesque countryside. The town has unique shops, cafes and restaurants and one of the highlights is the weekly market on a Tuesday, where you can find local produce. We can recommend the fantastic Greengrocers, the famous Cockburns Butcher, and Taste of India for a great curry. Bedale Museum is a highlight, housed in a magnificent 18th-century building standing proudly at the top of the High Street; exhibits depict the social history of Bedale and the surrounding villages. The popular market towns of Leyburn, Richmond, Northallerton, Ripon and Harrogate are also only a short drive away.
