Keep everyone under one roof for a shared meal in the stunning farmhouse kitchen at Hollins Barn, have a quiet evening in front of the fire in Hollins Farmhouse or unwind in one of the two hot tubs in the enclosed gardens.

Set against the backdrop of the rolling Coverdale hills and the Yorkshire Dales beyond, this large group accommodation offers a wonderful balance of comfort, character and luxury touches for a memorable break.

Just steps apart, these two properties make it easy to come together or spread out as the day unfolds.

Hollins Barn is a beautiful stone barn conversion with six bedrooms, a show-stopping kitchen, and a generous dining space for 22 guests made for long, sociable meals. Large kitchen doors open straight onto the patio letting indoor living flow effortlessly outdoors. A comfy sitting room with a large wall-mounted TV is ideal for easy evenings together, and a further dining table for 8 guests provides flexibility for groups and young families.

Right next door, Hollins Farmhouse - dating back to the 1500's - blends historic character with relaxed comfort. You'll find a fully-equipped kitchen, dining space for ten, five spacious bedrooms and two lounges with open fires. The largest lounge in Hollins Farmhouse is a wonderful spot to relax with exceptional countryside views framed by beautiful bay windows.

Dogs are welcome at Hollins Farm where the enclosed gardens offer freedom and peace of mind, and the variety of scenic walks will keep four-legged companions happy.

Hollins Farm sleeps up to 22 guests across two neighbouring houses, offering flexible accommodation for families or groups who want to stay close while enjoying their own space. Accommodation includes 11 bedrooms (six in Hollins Barn and five in Hollins Farmhouse) as well as two day beds in the snug in Hollins Farmhouse, which can sleep a further two guests for an additional charge. Please note these day beds are best suited to children with a maximum height of 5ft4in.

Guests can choose from six beautiful super-king bedrooms in Hollins Barn, each with a zip-and-link super-king-size bed which can be set up as doubles or as twin beds. Recently renovated, each bedroom is tastefully decorated with luxury touches and a Smart TV. The two largest bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, with walk-in rainfall showers and separate baths. The four further bedrooms share two family bathrooms.

In Hollins Farmhouse, you'll find five bedrooms on the first and second floors with high ceilings and farmhouse-style finishes. Three of the bedrooms have super-king beds that can be made into twins, there is one fixed king-size bed, and on the second floor is a pretty bedroom with twin beds. There are three bathrooms, two on the first floor and one with a large freestanding bathtub on the second floor.

Bringing together Hollins Farmhouse and Hollins Barn unlocks an exceptional amount of outside space for hosting families or groups in style. With each house having a jacuzzi-style hot tub, alfresco dining tables, patios and charcoal BBQ's, you have everything you need to make the most of those stunning views.

Each evening can offer something different. Gather at Hollins Barn for a relaxing night of food, wine and family time. Guests can eat at the dining tables large enough for 22, or unwind in the beautiful courtyard whilst the designated chef remains just steps away. For a more laid-back games night, head to the large enclosed garden at Hollins Farmhouse. There's plenty of room to set up outdoor favourites such as croquet, ideal for all ages. And for the nights where shade and shelter are needed, the elegant gazebo at Hollins Farmhouse provides the perfect retreat. Built-in lighting and its sturdy oak design mean the evening can continue regardless of the weather!

Where can I go to eat near Hollins Farm?

There is a great choice of places to eat near Hollins Farm. The Cover Bridge and The Blue Lion Inn are just down the road, both serving food with a friendly pub atmosphere. The Saddle Room and The Wensleydale Heifer are about 15 minutes' drive and hugely popular. For something a bit special we recommend Hansom in Bedale or Swinton Park in Masham. For families a trip to Brymor Ice Cream Parlour or the White Goose Pizza Co is not to be missed!

The driveway offers comfortable parking for up to eight cars across both properties.

Hollins Barn is entered via the kitchen directly from the driveway. The patio can be accessed either through a gate from the driveway or via doors from the hallway, leading to a large paved area with a hot tub and BBQ set on the flagstone patio.

Hollins Farmhouse is entered through a charming stone-flagged courtyard into the boot room. Within the courtyard, you’ll also find a separate office/study. The garden can be accessed via a gate from the driveway or through the kitchen, which opens onto a large paved patio leading to the lawn. A gazebo with stone-flagged flooring provides an additional outdoor seating area.

Both properties offer ground floors that are easily accessible and all on one level. Across the two, you’ll find spacious kitchen and dining areas with seating for up to 22 guests, along with sitting rooms that provide ample seating for everyone to gather comfortably. The farmhouse also includes a utility room with a washing machine.

Access to the bedrooms in both properties is via central staircases. In total, Hollins Farm offers 12 bedrooms:

At Hollins Barn, all six bedrooms feature super king zip-and-link beds, which can be configured as twin beds upon request. Bedrooms 1 and 6 have en-suite bathrooms, while the remaining four bedrooms share two additional bathrooms.

At Hollins Farmhouse, the first floor comprises four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Bedrooms 1 and 2 offer zip-and-link beds (super king or twins) and share a bathroom with a separate WC. Bedrooms 3 and 4 have fixed king-size beds and share a bathroom. The snug (also referred to as bedroom 6) includes two fixed day beds suitable for children up to 5ft 4. The second floor features a twin bedroom and a large bathroom with a freestanding bath.

In The Area

Hollins Farm is a wonderful location for swapping the hustle and bustle for a leisurely country escape. Located under 8 miles from the A1 motorway, this is a perfect halfway point for guests travelling from North and South, with easy access and transport links! The houses are located on the national cycle network, and less than 1 km from the 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart route. There is a network of stunning footpaths on the doorstep. Set out along the path that winds alongside the River Cover in Coverdale. Head to the historic stepping stones and further up-river to the Hallo Bridge. Loop back via East Witton to call by the famous The Blue Lion dining pub, or closer to home call in at an iconic local pub The Cover Bridge Inn.

Middleham is a 5-minute drive away, or a gorgeous 2 mile walk along the river. The Middleham gallops on the low and high moor are a must to see the racehorses exercising at dawn. Record leading flat trainer Mark Johnston is always around if you are up early enough! Middleham Castle is steeped in history not least as home to Richard III whilst Duke of York. The town is small and charming, with an excellent village shop, four pubs, a tearoom, takeaway fish and chips, and local shops.
