The Forbidden Corner in Masham, only a short drive from our holiday properties in Leyburn is a weird and wonderful day out for the whole family. This award winning tourist attraction is full of surprises around every corner, (make sure you’re wearing your waterproofs) with tunnels, chambers and follies to explore across 4 acres of Yorkshire countryside.
The brain child of Mr C R Armstrong who originally built the Forbidden Corner as a private folly for the exclusive enjoyment of his friends and family, however was subsequently opened to the public due to popular demand.
Discover the temple of the underworld, paths to the unknown, strange statues and a magical tower with decisions to make around every corner. Watch out for the shocks and tricks along the way as this is a day out with a difference...
Enjoy a home made picnic at one of the many gorgeous picnic spots throughout the site with stunning views over the Yorkshire Dales or pop to the café for a slice of cake and an award winning pie!
This is the ideal day out for any brave adventurers and those young at heart. After you have tired yourself out exploring, head next door for more weird and wonderful at the Saddle Room, which used to be race horse stables, where you can sit by a cosy fire or book the Tack room table and feel like you are at the races whilst enjoying the fabulous menu of local food and ales.
