Care of the Property

We have decorated and equipped our properties to a high specification, most items have been individually sourced and are expensive to replace. Thank you for looking after everything. We do understand that occasionally accidents happen; please report breakages as soon as possible to give us time to replace them before the next guests arrive. Please refer to our terms and conditions with any questions.

Please don’t allow children to eat food while seated on the sofa, this will avoid any accidents and subsequent damage charges for stains. Please do not allow dogs on furniture or upstairs.

Noise

Please respect neighbouring properties and keep noise levels to a minimum between 10pm and 8am especially outside.

Smoking

The property is strictly non-smoking. If smoking outside please don’t leave cigarette ends on the ground.

Safety Around at Fletcher House

We ask you to supervise your children at all times when outdoors and in the property, especially round the hot tub and decking area.

Dogs at Fletcher House

For your pet’s safety and consideration of the property, please be mindful of the following:

  • Please keep an eye on your dog, the perimeter is fenced but not wired.
  • Only two dogs are permitted, unless by prior arrangement ahead of your arrival.
  • Please clean up after your dog (spare bags available under the sink).
  • Please keep your dog on a lead at all times outside the property, especially where there are livestock nearby.
  • Do not allow dogs into the bedroom or onto furniture.
  • In the case of the property or grounds needing significant additional cleaning, additional charges could apply.

Rubbish & Recycling

Rubbish should be put in the bin which can be found outside the property round to the right hand side parking area. These will be put out for collection on a Monday by the property manager, so please note they will need access to the driveway.

Fire

There is kindling, firelighters and logs in the house, and a top up of logs in the outside utility room if required.

Heating & Hot Water

The heating and hot water is via an external combi boiler which is set to a timer in the entrance hall which shouldn’t need altering. When turning the hot taps on please wait for a short while for the water to run through the boiler to heat up, it is not ‘instant’ hot water and will come through very hot given 30 seconds or so.

The heated towel rails in the bathrooms are electric and are turned on by wall switches in the adjacent bedrooms.

Should you require the heating to be up or down please call 01748 850333 (office hours) or the out of hours emergency number: 07919 451626.

Dishwasher

Dishwasher tablets can be found under the sink. Please remove all excess food and grease before loading the dishwasher.

Starting a programme: Press the Power button, choose the programme you require.

Fridge & Freezer

Please do not overload the fridge freezer on arrival as this will cause the unit to overheat and therefore your food will not stay chilled which Holiday at Home cannot be held liable for. You shouldn’t need to alter the temperature during your stay.

Hob

Turn the hob on by the power button on the hob top (please ensure the ‘cooker’ switch is also on at the wall), select the hob you require and then select the heat level.

TV

The TV’s in the property will receive terrestrial channels as well as on demand, such as Netflix and iPlayer.

Sound bar

In order to use the sound bar you will need to add the device via you phone’s Bluetooth functionality. This can be done by going onto your phone’s Bluetooth settings, often found under General Settings, and searching for the sound bar. The name should come up when it is in ‘discoverable mode’ (switched on) and not connected to another device.

Washer & Dryer

There is a washer/dryer in the external utility, which is locked. The key to the external utility is located in the hallway.

Gardens

The garden is maintained weekly by Ashley and his team on a Wednesday, who will need access to the grounds. They will do their best to not disturb you. If there’s anything they should be aware of, please let Reception know.

BBQ

There is a charcoal BBQ on the terrace which you are welcome to use. Please bring your own charcoal, and leave the BBQ tidy for future guests. Please ensure ashes are cool before disposing of them.

The Hot Tub

Please read the safety information before using the hot tub. Should you have any questions about testing the hot tub please get in touch.

The hot tub will be cleaned out and filled with fresh water on the day of your arrival. You do not need to empty the water during your stay, there is an anti-bacterial treatment for the water in the hot tub.

The hot tub is set between 37-39 degrees, and you will be able to use the temperature controls to adjust. Please see the control panel on the hot tub, and use the far right hand button to cycle through the programs to operate the jets. When finished, always ensure that the tub is left on auto when not in use. Please note that the tub will not heat when the jets are set to high.

The water is heated by circulating through the system via an inlet and outlet pipe within the hot tub. DO NOT let the water drop below its original level. If necessary, please use the hose pipe provided to top up the water level.

The water is heated via an electric heater. This warms at around 1-2 degrees per hour so the hot tub may not be able to be used until later on the first night.
