Father’s Day in North Yorkshire…

Finding perfect Father’s Day gift ideas is hard, we know because we have the same battle buying for someone who has everything. But no matter what Dad’s interests may be, there is plenty to offer in Yorkshire that will give the whole family an unforgettable experience.

Buying gifts for the men in our lives is always the most difficult of tasks, so we have helped you out this year to make your Dad’s day this Father’s Day. Here are our recommendations to treat your Dad this Father’s Day with a family-friendly getaway, lunch together, or buy him a beer in North Yorkshire:

local pub for a group getaway at Greenbank Barns

Book a table...

Other locations for lunch include The Black Bull in Moulton, which is just a short drive from Richmond, or Rockliffe Hall which is based just outside Darlington. The Black Bull offers a hearty Yorkshire pub lunch whilst Rockliffe Hall are providing a traditional Sunday lunch in a relaxed atmosphere. If either of these sounds appetizing, you can book The Barn or Waterloo Lodge, which are both within a 20-minute drive.

We also have a list of the best pubs in North Yorkshire, so drop us a message to find out which is the closest to your holiday cottage.

Easby Abbey, Yorkshire

All aboard...

In the heart of Richmond, The Station is a unique refurbished railway station which offers a cinema, art exhibitions, delicatessens and a vibrant café. For experience-based Father’s Day gift ideas, go and see the latest action film at the cinema and afterwards book lunch.

There is also a circular walking route around Richmond called the Little Drummer Boy Walk, which takes approximately 1 hour. Start at The Station, Darcy Mews or Brompton Lakes and pass the alluring Easby Abbey, which has tours on Sundays at 14:00.

Black Sheep Brewery

Get a drink in...

Leaning towards beverages, the Black Sheep Brewery in Masham is the perfect treat for Father’s Day. The brewery runs a number of tours daily, each lasting approximately an hour, so you can drop in or make a day of it by visiting the bar and kitchen afterwards. We have a number of properties which are located within a short distance of the brewery including Fletcher House and Highmoor.

A city coated in history, Ripon offers a cathedral which houses a number of events as well as being a working place of worship. There are also a number of museums, all a short distance from each other and perfect for the whole family, whether you want to learn about the workhouse, the courthouse or the prison! A short drive out of Ripon is Fountains Abbey, which offers a beautiful walk and idyllic views in every direction. The Abbey is running a daily tour between 14:00-15:00 so that visitors can find out more about the ruins.
